PREPARE FOR A PARTY!

That is what is meant by the scriptures which say that no mere man has ever seen, heard, or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord.
~1 Corinthians 2:9 (TLB)

Yachts, mansions, exotic vacations and Malibu beach homes; oh, how we love Hollywood and all the glamour it produces.  We're suckers for the glimpses the tabloids provide of the the lives of the jet set and famous -- whether deserved or not. (Who, exactly, are the Kardashian's, and why do we care?)

We look on and think that if we could get just a little bit of what they have, we'd be livin' large. But while the exteriors in southern California are perfectly groomed, the reality shows reveal the ugly truth behind the beautiful facades - the rich and famous are just like everyone else  - some good, some bad, some happy, some sad...and some train-wreck crazy.

Money guarantees material objects, not happiness and certainly not sanity.  Adversity falls on the wealthy and poor alike and it's usually the attitude that makes the difference in the end, not the size of the money roll.

But the good news is that God promises that the pains of this world are temporary.   And He has something planned for us that the hippest MTV Crib or Malibu beach house will pale beside.   He says it is eternal and will never decay, and nothing on this earth can compare. It is so out of our realm of reality on this earth that it is impossible for us to even imagine.

The pleasures here that never seem to satisfy, the joy we experience momentarily, these will be permanent and eternal in heaven.  God created everything that is good, how much better will it be in His perfected paradise!

Compared to eternity this life is nothing more than a breath. Our salvation is not based on our actions and deeds, but our eternal rewards sure seem to be!  Christ tells us to focus on the treasure we're accumulating in the next life, rather than the temporary things we accumulate here.  If we know our celebrities better than we know our Creator, we may be a bit out of balance.

Listen to what He says in Isaiah, "Here on Mt. Zion in Jerusalem, the Lord Almighty will spread a wondrous feast for everyone around the world -- a delicious feast of good food, with clear, well-aged wine, and choice beef. At that time He will remove the cloud of gloom, the pall of death that hangs over the earth; He will swallow up death forever.  The Lord God will wipe away tears and take away forever all insults and mockery against His land and people. The Lord has spoken -- He will surely do it." (Isaiah 25:6-8)

And that is only the beginning!  Eye has not seen and ear has not heard all the wonderful things He has in store for His children!  Pick up The Book and get to know the One who is planning a party for you!
