"DEEPFAKE" DECEPTION

Google has released at least 3000 deepfake videos into cyberspace.  They claim this is for our own good as it will aid researchers in identification of them in the future.  Facebook plans to follow with it's own set later this year.  Gee, wonder why they didn't just hand them over to the researchers in the first place? 

 My bet is that shortly we'll see some pretty nasty videos surface of some pretty high up people, and Google and Facebook will crown themselves the arbiters of truth.  This is the same Facebook and "Do no evil" Google that are guilty of more election interference in 2016 than Hillary Clinton's emails.  They're going to tell us whether or not we can believe what we see with our own eyes.

 Here's an interesting passage from The Message version of scripture:  "The anarchist's coming is all Satan's work.  All his power and signs and miracles are fake, evil sleight of hand that plays to the gallery of those who hate the truth that could save them.  And since they're so obsessed with evil, God rubs their nose in it -- gives them what they want.  Since they refuse to trust truth, they're banished to their chosen world of lies and illusions.  2 Thessalonians 2:11-12

 We deceive ourselves when what we want is more important than the means we use to get it. We allow others to deceive us when what we want to believe is more important than the truth. The time is coming, and may have arrived, when you won't be able to trust what you see with your very own eyes. Keep a check on that heart and be alert in these perilous times, peeps.

The Stuff of Life

THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM

I drove past a school the other day and noticed a sign which read, “Wisdom begins with Wonder”.  Well in a world chock full of knowledge, we could certainly use a little wisdom.  However, the Bible tells us that the ‘fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom’, not ‘wonder’.  Of course, scripture is too controversial to place on school sign, so they had to come up with something. An article I just read in my local paper tells us of a boy who dumped his father’s dead body along the side of the road seven years ago, telling no one his father had passed, so he could continue to collect his social security checks.  Seven years later, and neighbors and the boy’s mother suddenly became curious as to why they hadn’t seen the father.  They decided to alert police that something might be wrong.  Ya think? I can't help but feel sympathetic towards the boy, simply because he was likely never taught (‘trained up the way he should go’) to get out and make his own way in the world. The
